ROMULUS, MI – Romulus Police are investigating the stabbing death of a 39-year-old Wyandotte man at the Howard Johnson Hotel that took place early Sunday morning.
On Sunday July 6th, 2020, at approximately 4:12am, the Romulus Police Department received a 911 call indicating a man had been stabbed at the Howard Johnson Hotel located in the 31000 block of Flynn Dr.
Responding officers found a 39-year-old Wyandotte man had collapsed in a second floor room. The victim was dead at the scene after he had been stabbed with a knife.
At approximately 4:39am, the suspect called the Romulus Police Department and reported his version of the altercation. The suspect, a 29-year-old Dearborn Heights man was taken into custody near the scene. Detectives are still searching for the knife used in the murder.
Romulus Police detectives are continuing the investigation, a motive is not yet known.
The case will be presented to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
