CLARKSTON, MI – A 31-year-old Clarkston man is fortunate to be alive today after his 32-year old fiancé ran him over with her car and then he was assaulted by her cousin and a friend of the cousin by throwing his down a flight of stairs on Thursday July 9th, 2020.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched, at approximately 1:38 a.m., to an address in the 400 block of Crimson King Circle on a welfare check. A male subject was banging on the complainant’s door indicating he had been assaulted and needed help.
When Deputies arrived, they located the subject, who had visible injuries to his face, arms, and legs. The subject was not able to walk and reported difficulty breathing. Deputies requested Independence Township Fire Department (ITFD) to respond to the scene to evaluate the subject.
Based on an interview with the subject, he indicated he and his fiancé had been involved in an on-going argument throughout the day. At some point, his fiancé got into her vehicle to leave and when doing so, struck him with her vehicle and drove over him. He managed to get up and went to a neighbor’s house to seek help when he was confronted by his fiancé’s cousin and a friend. These two subjects assaulted him, threw him down the stairs of his neighbor’s house, and repeatedly kicked him. He was able to flee from the subjects and went to the address on Crimson King Circle seeking help.
The victim was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac by ITFD for his injuries. The fiancé was located a short time later at their apartment in the 400 block of Silverberry Circle where she was taken into custody without incident.
The vehicle involved in the incident was also located at the apartment and impounded by Byer’s Towing.
The fiancé was transported to the Independence Township Substation to be interviewed by Detectives after being medically cleared by McLaren Hospital – Clarkston. Concluding her interview, she was lodged in the Oakland County Jail pending criminal charges. Detectives are continuing with the investigation.
