DETROIT, MI – Francisco Gonzalez, 40-years-old, fought for his life after being shot in southwest Detroit on the 4th of July during what is believed to have been a possible road rage incident.
The father of 3 young boys and his wife Maria were just blocks away from their home on Saturday July 4th, 2020, at approximately 12:55 a.m., in the 8300 block of Homer, when they were trapped in a hail of bullets.
Francisco was the driver of a white Dodge Durango. His wife Maria was in the passenger seat and their 3 sons were in the back seat. They were coming home from a cookout in Lincoln Park when someone pulled up beside them and started shooting.
Maria Gonzalez, 39-years-old, was fatally wounded. Francisco Gonzalez was transported to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition until he died on July 20th . Their 15-year-old son was also listed in critical condition. His current status is unknown.
