DETROIT, MI – A 25-year-old man lost his life last night after he was involved in an argument and then a shootout at a gas station on Detroit’s east side.

On Wednesday July 22nd, 2020, at approximately at 10:20 pm in the area of E. 7 Mile Rd and Hayes, at a Project Greenlight Detroit gas station, the occupant(s) inside a silver Ford Taurus were involved in a shoot-out with the occupant(s) inside of a black Ford Fusion, resulting in two people being shot.

The victims were standing near the vehicles at the time of the shooting. Both victims were privately conveyed to the hospital.


The first victim, a 25-year-old man, died due to his injuries. The second victim sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound to the body and was listed in stable condition.

Prior to the shooting, both groups had a verbal altercation with one another. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
