HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI – A Macomb County woman is now facing a felony charge of arson after she allegedly set a vehicle on fire.
On Wednesday July 22nd, 2020, at approximately 8:00am, Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the San Remo Apartments on Union Lake Rd for a vehicle on fire. It was reported that the vehicle was intentionally set on fire and that the responsible female party had fled the area.
Upon arrival, deputies located a black Jeep fully engulfed. Harrison Township Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. No persons, other than responsible female party, were near the Jeep during the time of the fire.
Deputies spoke with several witnesses and were able to identify the woman
as Sydney Parham, 26-years-old, of Fraser. A video of the fire being set was
Parham and the owner of the vehicle were known to each other as acquaintances.
Macomb County Sheriff’s investigators located Sydney Parham leaving her residence in a vehicle matching that of the suspect vehicle. Parham also matched the description given by witnesses and what was shown on video.
With the assistance of the Roseville Police Department, Parham was stopped and taken into custody by Sheriff’s investigators. She was lodged at the Macomb County Jail with no bond.
Parham was checked out medically and treated for minor cuts and burns while at the Macomb County Jail.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant for Sydney Parham on one count of Third Degree Arson, which is a felony. Parham was arraigned in the 41B District Court of Clinton Township on July 24th. She was given a $20,000 personal bond and is scheduled to return to court on 08/05/20 at 11:00am.
