Help Identify Suspect in East side Assault and Battery [Video]

DETROIT, MI – Your help is being requested to identify a suspect caught on video in an assault and battery that took place on the east side of Detroit.

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in
identifying and locating 1 male suspect wanted in connection with Assault and Battery that occurred on the city’s east side.

On Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 at approximately 10:57 a.m. in the 2000 block of East Jefferson (Green Light Location), an unknown black male entered a gas station without wearing a face mask. The victim (the store clerk) told the suspect that a face mask was required to be serviced due to the governor’s executive order.

The suspect became irate and stated making threats. The suspect then pushed in the security screen window that separates the clerk from the customers, resulting in the clerk being struck to the body by the screen window. Shortly after, the suspect left the location on foot heading south on East Jefferson.

Suspect description: The suspect is a black male, dark complexion wearing a pink hat, black shirt, red shorts, and pink gym shoes.
