DETROIT, MI – Charged are Derrick Lamarr Jackson, 38-years-old, and Damario Lamar Jackson, 20-years-old, both of Detroit, for their involvement in a triple non-fatal shooting of three men, ages 20, 24 and 30-years-old, that occurred in the parking lot of a gas station.
On July 21st, 2020 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a gas station in the 24700 block of W Seven Mile Road, in response to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, the officers discovered three adult males with apparent gunshot wounds being privately transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
It is alleged that a verbal altercation escalated into the non-fatal shootings. More complete facts will be presented in court at the Preliminary Examination. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendants. Defendant Derrick Jackson has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm.
Defendant Damario Jackson has been charged with three counts of Assault With Intent to Murder, three counts of Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying a Firearm with Unlawful Intent and seven counts of Felony Firearm.
Defendant Damario Jackson was arraigned in the afternoon of July 28, 2020 before 36th District Court Magistrate Malaik Ramsey-Heath. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 10, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 17, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
Both hearings are before Judge Kenyetta Stanford-Jones in 36 th District Court. The defendant received a $750,000 cash/surety bond. Please contact the Detroit Police Department for a photograph of the defendant.
