DETROIT, MI – Jiwyna Harlan, 33-years-old, has been identified as the woman who tragically lost her life in a horrific car crash on Detroit’s east side Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday August 1st, 2020, at approximately 4:45 p.m., in the intersection of Chalmers and Seymour, a stolen red Dodge Challenger, occupied by two men collided with a black trailblazer that Jiwyna Harlan was driving.
Jiwyna Harlan was fatally injured in the crash. She was the mother of seven children. Three of those children were in the Trailblazer at the time of the crash. They were taken to Children’s Hospital of Michigan to be treated. They were listed in stable condition. Harlan and her children were on their way to celebrate her parents wedding anniversary.
The two male suspects were arrested and are expected to be formally charged within the coming days.
