2 People Shot while waiting on Stoplight at Schoolcraft and Burt Road

DETROIT, MI – A man and woman are in the hospital today after they were shot while waiting for the stop light to change at Schoolcraft and Burt Road on the city’s west side.

On Wednesday August 5th, 2020, at approximately 8:00pm in the area of Schoolcraft and Burt Road, a 28 year old man and his 25-year-old female passenger were stopped at a stoplight at Schoolcraft and Burt Rd when an unknown suspect in white Sudan pulled up and an occupant inside of that vehicle fired shots, hitting them both.

After the shooting the suspect fled west on Schoolcraft.

Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. The male victim was listed in critical condition. The female victim in temp serious condition.

The suspect is unknown at this time. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to please call Detroit Police Department’s Sixth Precinct Investigative Unit at 313-596-5640 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
