LAPEER, MI – In a very sad update to the 4-year-old boy who was pulled from his grandparents pool on Monday August 3rd, 2020, we have received word that he has died.
The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office notified MI Headlines that on Wednesday August 5th, during the early afternoon hours, the little boy did not survive and pronounced deceased at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
The four year old boy from North Branch was visiting his grandparent’s house with his 28 year old mother and twin sibling. The child was last seen sleeping inside of the house around 8:30 AM that morning. The child woke up, went outside, opened an unlocked gate latch to access the swimming pool.
Friends were also at the grandparents home when they discovered the little boy in the pool around 9:28 AM. The family friends removed him from the pool and started CPR until medics arrived on scene.
Lapeer County EMS Ambulance Service continued lifesaving efforts during transport to McLaren Hospital in Lapeer. His vital sign were eventually regained and the child was transferred by helicopter to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor where he sadly passed away.
