Injuries Sustained when Shots fired near Emery and Dean

DETROIT, MI – On Sunday August 9th, 2020, at approximately 7 p.m. in the 19000 block of Ryan, an unknown suspect in a black Chevy Malibu was pursuing the 39-year-old man who was driving of a white Chevy Silverado, when at some point the occupants of both vehicles allegedly began shooting at one another, and shattering the window of an occupied Chevy Suburban that was on the block.

The driver of the white Chevy Silverado lost control of his vehicle and struck a brick partition/fence in the area of Emery and Dean. After the impact, the passengers of the white Chevy Silverado allegedly fled on foot.

The driver of the Silverado remained at scene due to an injury he sustained from the vehicle accident. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and listed in temporary serious condition.

The driver of the Chevy Suburban, a 38-year-old man, drove to the 19000 block of Eureka where he was conveyed to the hospital for treatment of an injury he sustained from the glass shattering. He was also listed in temp serious condition.

The driver of the black Chevy Malibu fled the location in an unknown direction. It is unknown at this time how many people were in the Malibu and whether anyone sustained injuries. No additional injuries were reported at this time.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated and subject to change upon further investigation.
