DETROIT, MI – Two men, one from Lansing and one from Saint CLair Shores have been charged in the fatal shooting that took place at the Detroit One Coney Island Restaurant in the 3400 block of Woodward Avenue.

Connor Craparotta, 23-years-old, of St. Clair Shores and Andrew Lee Harris, 24-years-old, of Lansing, have been charged in the fatal shooting that took place on Saturday August 8th, 2020, at approximately 2:22 a.m.

Detroit Police officers were dispatched to the coney island restaurant in the 3400 block of Woodward Avenue in response to a shooting in progress call. Upon arrival, the officers located a 28-year-old woman inside the location with obvious gunshot wounds. Medics arrived and declared the victim dead at the scene.

It is alleged that Conner Craparotta and Andrew Harris entered the location where an argument with a patron escalated into an exchange of gunfire. In addition to the fatal shooting of the 23-year-old woman, Connor Craparotta sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. A 60-year-old man and a 24-year-old man also sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds in the melee.

Both suspects have been charged with Murder – Second Degree, two counts of Assault With Intent to Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying with Unlawful Intent and four counts of Felony Firearm.

Additionally, Andrew Harris has been charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm.

A warrant request had been presented for a 26-year-old Lansing man at the scene, which was denied because it has been determined that he acted in lawful self-defense.
