WESTLAND, MI – Flem Stiltner, IV, 25-years-old, of Westland, is now facing charges in connection with the fatal stabbing of his 48-year-old father, Flem Stiltner, III, of Wayne.
On August 9th, 2020, at approximately 10:12 a.m., Michigan State Police officers were notified by the Van Buren Township Police Department of a deceased body located in the bed of a pickup truck that was found in Van Buren Township. The body was later identified as the father of Flem Stiltner, IV. The investigation by Wayne Police Department officers and Michigan State Police officers led to the identification and arrest of Flem Stiltner by the Fugitive Apprehension Team.
Stiltner was released into the custody of the Wayne Police Department. It is alleged that he fatally stabbed his father before placing him in the bed of his pickup truck and driving him to another location.
Flem Stiltner has been charged with First Degree Murder, First Degree Home Invasion and Tampering with Evidence. He was arraigned this afternoon in 29th District Court in Wayne.
The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 25, 2020; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for September 1, 2020 in 29 th District Court. The defendant was remanded to jail.
