Identity Wanted for East side Car Thief [Video]

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is looking for help to identify and locate a person who they believe is connected to the theft of two vehicles on the east side of the city.

The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in
identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection to two motor-vehicle thefts that occurred on the city’s east side.

On Thursday, July 23rd, 2020, at approximately 7:50 p.m. in the 12400 block of Conant, a 38-year-old male victim parked his gray 2006 Jeep Commander in the parking lot of a Family Dollar and went inside the location, leaving his vehicle running. While inside the location, an unknown male suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and drove off. Vehicle was later recovered in Novi.

Investigators believe the same suspect is also responsible for a vehicle theft that took place at a gas station on Monday, July 27th, at approximately 5:50 p.m. in the 3800 block of Conant. The 31-year old male victim pulled up to the location in a white 2016 Ford Fusion. He exited the vehicle and went inside the gas station leaving his car running. Upon returning to his car, he discovered it was gone. The vehicle was later recovered in Livonia.

The subject is described as a white male, fair complexion, slim build, wearing a basketball cap and pink shirt.
