MSP Trooper not Injured when Suspect Ran Over Officers Motorcycle

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI – On Tuesday, September 9th, 2020, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Michigan State Police Trooper conducted a traffic stop on M-52 near Howell Rd in Ingham County for a traffic violation. The trooper was able to determine that the driver, John Henry Goss III, had a warrant for his arrest.

John Goss III is a 38 year old man from National City, MI.

While attempting to arrest John Goss, he ran over the trooper’s motorcycle with his 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck and then fled the scene. The trooper was not injured.

Suspect is driving a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck, white in color, MI plate: EEV0702. The suspect is John Henry Goss III, a 38 year old man from National City, MI. Goss is 5’10 and 190 lbs.

Troopers from the Lansing Post, Brighton Post, Hometown Security Team and Hamburg P.D. located the suspect vehicle on Pingree Rd in Livingston County. A traffic stop was attempted and again John Goss fled in his vehicle.

After a short pursuit, Goss was arrested without further incident at approximately 12:30 PM. Goss was lodged at Ingham County Jail for MDOP to Police Vehicle and R&O. He will face additional charges in Livingston County regarding the pursuit.
