Grayling Woman Busted for Possession of Cocaine and Meth

OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – On Sunday, June 21st, 2020, at approximately 7:00 p.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post were called to a driving complaint on Mancelona road in Otsego Township.

The caller stated a vehicle was traveling at varying speeds and swerving all over the roadway. The vehicle almost struck another one traveling in the opposite lane. The vehicle eventually pulled over on Mancelona Road near Old US-27.

Troopers arrived and contacted the driver who was underneath the vehicle. She was identified as 30- year-old Jaqueline Elizabeth Failing from Grayling. Failing said her vehicle was pulling to the left and right so she pulled over to locate the issue. Troopers discovered Failing’s license was suspended and she did not have insurance on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was made prior to it being towed and troopers recovered a plastic baggie containing crystalized rock and a chalky white substance. Jaqueline Failing was placed under arrest and lodged in the Otsego County Jail.

The suspected narcotics were sent to the MSP Crime Lab for analysis. The results were submitted to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Jaqueline Failing was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County for one count Possession of Cocaine, one count Possession Methamphetamine, one count Operate Without Security/Insurance, and one count No License in Possession. She was given a $5,000 PR bond. Failings next scheduled court appearance is on September 24, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.
