DETROIT, MI – Devin Rashad Green, 19-years-old, of Detroit, has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Janet Lynn Kendle, 43-years-old, of Dearborn.
On September 3, 2020 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Detroit Police officers the area of Jefferson Avenue and St. Aubin responded to the sound of shots fired within close proximity of their vehicle. Upon arrival, the officers discovered Janet Kendle on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound.
Medics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment, but she succumbed to her wounds.
It is alleged that Janet Kendle and her husband were walking westbound on the north side of Jefferson Avenue when Devin Green, who was a backseat passenger in a passing vehicle, pulled out a weapon and fired it out the car window, striking the victim. An investigation by Detroit Police led to the apprehension of the Green. Facts and evidence in this case will be placed on the record in court at the Preliminary Examination.
Devin Green has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Careless Discharged of a Weapon Causing Death and Felony Firearm.
