DETROIT, MI – Joshua Kendall Regland, aka Joshua Kendall Ragland, 22-years-old, of Clinton Township, and Renita Gail Declouette, 51-years-old of Detroit, have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Sherard Alwin Youngblood, 26-years-old, of Oak Park.
On May 27th, 2020, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Detroit police were dispatched to a location in the 14000 block of Minock in response to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the victim. Medics arrived an transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It is alleged that, after leaving a gas station and while walking down Minock Street, a vehicle driven by Renita Declouette, with a passenger in the back seat, pulled up to the victim. A verbal argument escalated, and it is also alleged that the backseat passenger, Joshua Regland, pulled out a weapon and fired, striking the victim. Investigation by the Detroit Police led to the apprehension of the defendants. Facts and evidence of this case will be entered into the record in court at the Preliminary Examination.
Joshua Regland has been charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. He was arraigned on September 24, 2020 before 36th District Court Magistrate Joseph Boyer. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for October 1st, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.; his Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 6th, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Ronald Giles in 36th District Court. The defendant was remanded to jail.
Renita Declouette has been charged with First Degree Murder. She was arraigned on September 24th, 2020 before 36th District Court Magistrate Joseph Boyer.
