HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI – A Clinton Township woman and her passenger are facing very serious charges after a police chase that ended with Macomb County Sheriff’s patrol vehicles damaged and a deputy was sent to the hospital with injuries.

On Thursday October 1st, 2020, at approximately 12:20am, a Macomb County Sheriff deputy made a traffic stop on a red Chevy pickup truck near Crocker Blvd and Reimold Rd. The pickup, with a man and woman inside, was stopped for a traffic violation.

As the Deputy approached the pickup, the pickup sped away quickly before the Deputy could make contact. The pickup fled onto eastbound I-94.

Deputies put out stop sticks which the suspect struck. This caused the pick up to lose its driver side tire, slowing the suspect’s speed. Several deputies attempted to box the suspect in and bring the chase to a peaceful end, however, the suspect began to ram deputy vehicles.

One deputy vehicle was hit from behind and sent off road to the side of the I-94. The suspect then rammed a second deputy vehicle and became locked onto the deputy’s push bumper. Because of this, the suspect hit the guard rail and the deputy crashed into the pick up’s driver side door. The pickup finally came to a stop on eastbound I-94 near Meldrum and both the driver and passenger were taken into custody.

The driver, identified as Jamie Storing, a 31-year-old woman, out of Clinton Township, was arrested and lodged for Fleeing and Eluding, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and being in possession of Heroin.

The passenger, identified as Jacob Cuellar, a 28-year-old man, out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was arrested and lodged for Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

One deputy was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.

This report was reviewed by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and the following charges have been authorized:

Driver: Jamie Storing, 31-years-old, of Clinton Township, is being charged with:
Count 1: Police Officer – Fleeing – 3rd Degree- Vehicle Code (felony)

Count 3: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault) (felony)

Passenger: Jacob Cuellar, 28-years-old, out of New Mexico
