DETROIT, MI – On Tuesday October 6th, 2020, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers were in the 16600 block of Lilac when they observed a group of men drinking outside.

As the officers stopped to investigate, the suspect, a 30-year-old man, fled from the officers. The officers pursued the suspect to the 16800 block of Lilac. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly fired a shot at the officers and continued to flee.

At some point, the officers encountered the armed suspect again, resulting in one of the officers allegedly firing shots at the suspect of which none took effect. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody without further incident. A handgun was also recovered.
