MSP Investigating Report of Shooting on Southfield Freeway

DETROIT, MI – Michigan State Police Troopers were called to a home on a report of a shooting that took place on the northbound side of the Southfield freeway.

On Sunday October 11th, 2020, at approximately 8:40AM a caller contacted MSP 911 and reported that he was involved in a freeway shooting overnight.

Troopers responded to the callers home to investigate the incident. The caller reported that he was driving on the northbound side of the Southfield freeway somewhere between McNichols and 8 Mile Road at approximately 3 30AM. The caller saw the driver of a black Maserati, no license plate information was obtained, was driving reckless and he and the driver of the Maserati got involved in a argument.

The callers vehicle was then shot multiple times by an occupant from the Maserati. The Maserati continued north on M-39.  The caller then drove home because he didn’t know what to do. As decision was made that there will not be any freeway closures due to this incident.
