28 yr old Hit and Killed After Truck Breaks Down in Jackson County

PARMA TOWNSHIP, MI – On Wednesday, October 14th, 2020, at 7:38 a.m., deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, along with Parma Fire and Jackson County Ambulance responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred on Gibbs Road near Herrick Road in Parma Township.

One individual suffered fatal injuries from the crash. Investigators found that a 1987 Ford truck was broken down in the southbound travel lanes of Gibbs Rd. A 2011 Chevrolet Cruz was travelling southbound and struck the driver of the truck, who had been out of the vehicle attempting to repair it.

Dylan Aukerman, 28-years-old, of Rives Junction, was outside the Ford truck and suffered fatal injuries. Aukerman was the driver prior to the Ford truck becoming inoperable. The driver of the Cruz suffered non-life threatening injuries. This crash remains under investigation at this time and no further details are available for release.
