7 Non-Fatal Shootings took place in Detroit in 24 Hours

DETROIT, MI – From 10:30 PM on Friday October 16th, 2020 to 10:30PM on October 17th, a total of 7 non-fatal shootings took place in the city of Detroit.

These are emergency runs that Detroit Police responded to from 9-11 calls that came into Central Dispatch.

Non-Fatal Shooting – 8000 block of Whittaker
On October 16th, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 30-year old man reported that he was standing in front of the location in the 8000 block of Whittaker, when an unknown white vehicle pulled up; someone said his name fired multiple shots, and then the vehicle then drove off in an unknown direction.

Medics conveyed the victim to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.

Non-Fatal Shooting –15800 block of Edmore
On October 16, 2020 at approximately 11:15 p.m., a 21-year old male victim reported that he was at a party stepped outside heard multiple gunshots, felt pain, and realized he was shot.

The victim was privately conveyed to a local hospital where he was listed in temporary serious condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.

Non-Fatal Shooting –Waltham E. 7 Mile
On October 17, 2020 at approximately 7:00 a.m., a 20-year old female victim reported that she was at a party. Several unknown males started arguing, several gunshots were fired.

As a result, the victim was struck; she left the party and was privately conveyed to a local hospital listed in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.

Non-Fatal Shooting –18000 block of Ohio
On October 17th, 2020, at approximately 10:40 a.m., a 26-year old man reported that he and a known 19-year old male suspect were involved in a verbal altercation, the suspect then shot the victim.

The victim was privately conveyed to a local hospital listed in serious condition. The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction. The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.

Non-Fatal Shooting –4600 block of Chatsworth
On October 17th, 2020, at approximately 5:29 p.m., a 22-year old man reported that he heard a loud knocking sound at his front door, and then noticed an unknown man in his home.

The suspect fired a shot inside the home striking the victim. The suspects then fled the location, entered a gray Buick, and fled south on Chatsworth.

Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated and listed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.

Non-Fatal Shooting –500 block of Chene
On October 17th, 2020, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a 29-year old man reported that he was in the area when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots, striking the victim.

The victim was privately conveyed to a local hospital where he was treated and listed in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.

Non-Fatal Shooting –19900 block of Ferguson St
On October 17th, 2020, at approximately 10:16 p.m., a 34-year old man reported that he was involved in a physical altercation with the suspect.

During the altercation, the suspect shot the victim. The victim was conveyed by medics to a local hospital where he was treated and listed in temporary serious condition. The circumstances surrounding this incident are actively being investigated.
