PONTIAC, MI – One would hope that your neighbors would never want to harm you or anyone else for that matter. But this woman found out that arguing with those who live near by could cost you your life if your not careful.

At 1:44AM, on Saturday October 24th, 2020, Oakland County Sheriff Deputies, Star EMS and the Waterford Township Regional Fire Department responded to an assist with a medical call on the 10th floor of the Phoenix Place Apartments located in the 47000 block of Woodward Avenue.

The caller reported that a woman had fallen on a knife and that there was blood spurting out of the wound on her back. When police and EMS arrived they found that the 47-year-old woman did not have one stab wound but in fact had at least four.

The victim had sustained four stab wounds, three to her back/side of her torso and a fourth to her left arm. The stab wound in her arm had the blade of the knife lodged in it. The handle was missing from the knife. The woman was barely conscious and unable to speak.

During the investigation, witnesses who were in the apartment gave conflicting accounts of what had occurred.

Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were called in and arrived on scene. Through their investigations, they ascertained that a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, who live on the 13th floor, had come to the 10th floor apartment and began to argue with their neighbor. During the argument the man and woman from the 13th floor stabbed their neighbor on the 10th floor before they fled out of the apartment after the brutal assault.

The male suspect returned to the apartment a short time later to call 911 at the Sheriff’s Operations Center.  He began to render aid to the victim. The woman was transported to a local area hospital. She is listed in critical condition.

An Evidence Technician processed the scene. The handle of the knife was found in the stairwell of the apartment building.

The press release did not indicate if the individuals were friends who lived in the same building or just neighbors having a disagreement of some sort.
