DETROIT, MI – On Saturday October 26th, 2020, at approximately 6:30 PM, Michigan State Police troopers responded to westbound I-94 near M-10 in the city of Detroit for a crash.
When troopers arrived it was determined the driver may be under influence of drugs. Field sobriety tests were conducted and and the suspect failed the testing.
During the arrest and handcuffing the suspect broke free and ran. Troopers ran after the suspect across I-94 and up the embankment when they used a taser to stop the suspect. The man was taken into custody without further incident.
Troopers retrieved approximately $8,000 in cash and 43 suspected Oxycontin pills from the suspects vehicle. A blood draw was obtained at a local hospital. The suspect was processed and lodged at the Detroit Detention Center.
