LANSING, MI – Eaton County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Zap Zone at 936 Mall Drive East in Delta Township on Tuesday for a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival they learned that a 3-year-old girl had been shot.

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office released dramatic video showing the father handing his three year old child to Sgt. Preston Dahlgren just moments after she was shot last week.

You can hear Sgt. Dahlgren trying to comfort the 3 year old baby. Fortunately in this case, the victim did not suffer any life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.

Sheriff Reich implores upon the public if you can help identify a suspect in this case, please contact Det Ted Johnson at 517-323-8492.

You can remain anonymous. You can view photos of a vehicle that the sheriff’s department believes to be involved. A photo of the person they believe is the suspect is included.

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office understands the suspect pictures are not the best quality and are from behind.

“The indiscriminate shots being fired into a business designed for children makes this case even more horrific” said Sheriff Tom Reich. He also said “We are so glad that the quick actions of family, deputies and EMS were able to help this little girl make a full recovery. We are now hoping someone seeing this will act and come forward to help put the person responsible behind bars. Your actions could help save lives in the future.”
