DETROIT, MI – On Thursday, November 5th, 2020, at approximately 12:10 a.m., in the 6000 block of Brace, an off duty Detroit Police officer was sitting in a parked vehicle when three males approached him on foot.

One of the men pointed a gun at the officer. The officer fired a single gunshot in the direction of the suspects, striking one of them. All three suspects then fled on foot.

One of the suspects, a 16-year old boy, was later located at a local hospital where he was listed in temporary serious condition.

It was later determined he had been dropped off at the hospital by two men in a red 2006 Pontiac Vibe. The suspect was detained by officers and taken into custody. 

The Detroit Police Department needs the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the two other male suspects. Along with the first individual that is already in custody, they are wanted in connection with the attempted armed robbery of the off duty Detroit Police Officer.

Detroit Police request assistance in locating the two remaining suspects. The suspects are described as a black males between the ages of 16 and 18 years old. They are considered to be armed and dangerous, driving a red 2006 Pontiac Vibe.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.
