PONTIAC, MI – A 50-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the parking lot at Satchel’s Bar in Pontiac on Saturday November 7th, 2020.

Oakland County Sheriff Deputies and Star EMS responded to Satchel’s Bar located at 78 Baldwin Road, at about 12:10 a.m., on the report of a man who had been shot in the thigh.

Deputies arrived on scene, located the victim in the parking lot and began lifesaving measures. The victim was bleeding heavily from his right thigh and a tourniquet was applied. The victim was not conscious. Additional Deputies cleared the crowd so that Paramedics from Star EMS could enter the scene and render aid to the victim.

Several witnesses were located who stated that they observed the victim and the suspect engaged in a verbal argument in the parking lot. The suspect reportedly presented a pistol and fired once striking the victim. The suspect then fled in a tan full-size SUV.

Star EMS transported the victim to McLaren Oakland Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to repair an artery. The victim is listed in serious but stable condition. A single 9 mm shell casing was recovered from the scene. Detectives arrived on scene and began their investigation.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing white shoes, black pants, a white shirt, with short hair. Last seen driving a tan full-sized SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe.
