TECUMSEH, MI – On Friday September 14th, 2018, Officers from the Tecumseh Police Department were dispatched to a possible suicide by hanging complaint in the City of Tecumseh, Lenawee County.

Due to the suspicious nature of the complaint, the Tecumseh Police Department requested assistance from Michigan State Police in the investigation. At the request of the Tecumseh Police Department, Michigan State Police took over the investigation in October of 2018.

After a lengthy and complex investigation, an open murder warrant was issued on October 16th, 2020 by the Lenawee County Prosecutors Office for James David Allan, a 37-year-old man, who currently resides in Ocala Florida. James Allan was taken into custody on October 19th, 2020 in Ocala.

James Allan waived extradition and was transported back to Michigan. On November 6th, 2020, Allan was arraigned on one count of open murder for the death of his wife Amy Allan in a Lenawee County Courthouse. His bond was set at $10,000,000.
