OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI – Oakland County Sheriff Deputies on Monday November 16th, 2020, responded to Hilberg Street on the report of a family trouble involving a father and son.

The father reported that his 26-year-old son was intoxicated and threatening to assault him.

Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to his parents outside of the residence. As Deputies began to enter the residence, they were advised that their son had a shotgun and was possibly suicidal.

Deputies made contact with the subject who was in the bathroom of the home. He was in possession of a shotgun and making suicidal statements. Deputies negotiated with the man to surrender the firearm.
