LAPEER, MI – On Friday November 6th, 2020, around 8:30 AM, Lapeer County 911 dispatched Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies on a call concerning a theft at Chapman’s Sports Center on Davison Road in Lapeer.
Employees arriving for work that morning discovered that sometime during the night, the property’s exterior cyclone perimeter fence was cut to gain access. Three customer’s UTVs were stolen.
Video surveillance of the premises established that the theft occurred on Friday morning around 1:00 AM. Three individuals were captured on video stealing the UTV’s. A witness reported to deputies that they observed a white in color pickup truck within the area.
On Thursday November 5th, a crème colored SUV was observed (captured on video with pictures below) drove into the business’ lot, around the building, and subsequently exited. This is a vehicle of interest and may or may not be associated to this theft.
On November 9th, around 8:00 AM, the City of Flint Police Department recovered one of the stolen UTVs abandoned at a private residence on Tuxedo Street in Flint. There was further information that the UTVs were frequently operated within the area of Tuxedo and Neubert Avenue in Flint.
The following two stolen UTVs have not been located or recovered.
1) 2004 Polaris Ranger 4 X 4 (dark green in color)
2) 2018 Polaris Vector 500 (green in color)
