PULLMAN, MI – A 40-year-old man from the Village of Pullman died while officers with the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office and a Trooper with Michigan State Police were attempting to take him into custody. It is unknown what caused his death at this time.
On Wednesday November 11th, 2020, at approximately 7:10 AM, a deputy with the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office and a trooper with the Michigan State Police Wayland Post were dispatched to an address on North Avenue in the village of Pullman on a report of a domestic disturbance.
After making contact with the man, later identified as 40-year-old Nathan Strample, officers attempted to take him into custody and were met with considerable resistance. During the subsequent struggle to arrest him, officers observed that he was no longer breathing and life-saving measures were attempted. Despite life-saving measures by involved officers and Life Care, Strample was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Michigan State Police Special Investigations Sections from both the Sixth and Fifth Districts, along with the MSP Laboratory and Reconstruction Unit, are investigating the circumstances of Strample’s death.
