DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is still in search of a suspect wanted in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred on the city’s east side in April of 2019.
On Friday, April 19th, 2019, at approximately 12:15 p.m., in the 19000 block of Van Dyke, a 23-year old man got into a verbal argument with an unknown suspect. During the verbal dispute, the suspect produced a handgun and attempted to strike the victim, ultimately firing he fired two shots at the victim and striking him. The suspect then fled the location on foot, traveling westbound on E. 7 Mile.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by medics and was listed in stable condition.
Detroit Police request assistance from the community in identifying and locating the suspect. They are described as:
- Black male,
- dark complexion,
- medium build,
- wearing a black hat and gray hooded sweater.
