DETROIT, MI – On Friday November 20th, 2020, at approximately 9:50 p.m., in the 13500 block of Chicago, officers were patrolling the area when they noticed a 34-year-old man robbing a 45-year-old man at gunpoint outside the location.
As the officers confronted the suspect, the suspect pointed his gun in the direction of the officers. One of the officers fired his department weapon and striking the suspect. The suspect was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment and listed in temporary serious condition.
The suspect’s weapon was also recovered along with items he had taken from the victim. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. An internal investigation has also been launched by members of the Detroit Police Department’s Professional Standard Division.
