DETROIT, MI – On Saturday November 21st, 2020, at approximately 2:10 AM, Michigan State Police troopers were dispatched to a crash that was blocking traffic on I-94 at Harper. DPD arrived on the scene to assist the MSP Troopers by blocking the freeway lanes.

The Detroit Police officers got out of their cars to help when a vehicle struck one of the Detroit Police cars, pushing it into the other DPD vehicle. None of the Detroit Police officers or the at fault driver were hurt.

When troopers spoke with the at fault diver she stated she did not see the DPD cars or their emergency lights which were on.

Michigan State Police request that you please pay attention while you are out on the road. Especially today. They expect there will be a lot of car crashes where police and tow trucks will be providing assisting them.
