BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – On Saturday November 21st, 2020, at approximately 12:00 a.m., Bloomfield Township Police responded to the 800 block of Helston Court on a report of an in-progress Home Invasion.
The homeowner called 911 and told dispatchers that he woke up when he heard his dog barking. The homeowner reported he found a window and door open to his home. Moments later, the homeowner’s wife discovered a male subject hiding in their home.
While on the phone with the 911 dispatcher, the homeowner and his wife began to fight with the burglar. The burglar eventually broke free and fled the home through the garage. During the scuffle, the suspect dropped his cellphone and his key FOB.
The homeowner described the burglar as a black male, 5’10” wearing a black running suit with white stripes. Bloomfield Township Police made the scene within minutes and began a search of the area. Three K9 teams and the department’s drone aided in the search. At approximately 4:00 a.m., an officer received a report of a subject walking in the area of Manderford Road. Officers responded where they saw a subject matching the suspect’s description, walking in the roadway. Officers placed the subject under arrest and transported him to the Bloomfield Township Police station.
The suspect is a 24-year-old Detroit resident, Bobby Lewis Foster Jr. The suspect’s vehicle was located parked in a driveway a short distance from the victim’s home.
On November 23rd, Bobby Foster was video arraigned in the 48th District Court in front of Magistrate Howard Linden on a three-count warrant: Count 1: Home Invasion 1st degree- Felony Count 2: Aggravated Assault (Homeowner) – Misdemeanor Count 3: Assault and Battery (Homeowner’s wife) – Misdemeanor. Foster was issued a $50,000 cash surety bond. Foster’s next court appearance is scheduled for 12/3/20 at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Honorable Judge Marc Barron in the 48th District Court. Foster is currently lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
