DETROIT, MI – The 28-year-old man is the suspect who shot and killed the mother of his child during a custody dispute near Grand River and Warren Ave at approximately 11:15 PM Monday night.

On November 30th, 2020, the 28-year-old woman was shot and killed in what is being called a domestic dispute regarding the custody of the child that they had in common.

On Tuesday December 1st 2020, at approximately 5:30 AM, Detroit Police requested assistance near Conner at Mack for a person firing at or near Detroit Police Department Precinct #5 and having had one scout car being struck. The suspect was armed was an AR-15 when he opened fire. That hail of bullets struck a scout car where the flying glass hit an officer in the face injuring him.

During a standoff with police he was still armed with the AR15. Officers lives were at risk because the suspect was being very aggressive. The suspect was shot and killed which brought the problem to a sad end.
