CLAY TOWNSHIP, MI – The body of a woman was found in the water off Harsens Island yesterday morning in St. Clair County.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff Mat King, 70 year old Linda Pavia of Harsens Island was found by a citizen floating close to shore in the 3500 block of South Channel Drive at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. That person called 911.

Clay Township Police and South Water Rescue responded and recovered the body from the water. She was then transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to Ascension River District Hospital in East China Township, where she was pronounced dead and the case was turned over to Detectives from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives found no signs of foul play during their investigation. Pavia’s body was turned over to the St. Clair County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to establish the official cause and manner of death.
