MOUNT PLEASANT, MI – Following a traffic stop Thursday evening, a Michigan State Police Troopers got more than they expected during their investigation of those who were inside of that stopped vehicle. A loaded gun and a stolen vehicle and a large amount of methamphetamine.
On December 10th, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Mount Pleasant Post performed a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on US127 near Broomfield Road in Isabella County, Union Township.
The suspect vehicle was found to be stolen and the three occupants were removed from the vehicle. A search of the occupants and vehicle revealed an illegally concealed firearm and suspected methamphetamine. The driver, a 44-year-old Manton man, was arrested for illegally being in possession of a concealed weapon. A 34-year-old Lake City woman and a 42-year-old Jackson woman were both arrested for possession of methamphetamine. All three of the vehicle occupants were lodged in the Isabella County Jail.
The investigation of the incident and stolen vehicle continues.
