DETROIT, MI – Detroit Police ask for assistance to locate an 18-year-old suspect for the double murder of two sisters that took place yesterday afternoon on Lantz Street.

The Detroit Police Department needs assistance in locating a known male suspect wanted in connection to a double fatal shooting on the city’s west side.

The preliminary investigation on Friday December 18th, 2020, at approximately 3:45 p.m., in the 400 block of W Lantz St, found that a known 18-year-old suspect shot two victims. The victims were sisters, 18-year-old Shakiya Todd and 21-year-old Shaniya Todd. One of the victims leaves behind a 5-year-old son.

The sisters had gone to the house where they were shot and killed at to check on a person who lives in that home. The shooting took place following a verbal argument that turned physical between multiple individuals. The suspect is said to be a relative of the woman who owns the house. After the shooting the suspect fled the location with the gun.

Suspect Description: Black male, 18-years old, 5’9”, large build, with an afro, armed with a long gun.
