DETROIT, MI – The investigation into a fatal vehicle crash on December 20th, 2020, began at approximately 5:32 p.m., in the area of Cass & Grand River, when three vehicles, a Jeep Wrangler, a Dodge Ram & a Buick, collided in the intersection.

A 60-year old man who was the driver of the Buick had to be extracted from his vehicle by emergency responders. He was transported by medics to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A second victim, a 13-year old boy was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he was listed in stable condition. It has not been determined which vehicle he was in at the time of the accident.

The two other drivers did not report any injuries. 

The circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police Fatal Squad Unit at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. 

There is no additional information or details pertaining to this incident at this time. Fatal squad investigators are actively conducting their investigation to determine how this tragedy occurred.
