MOORELAND TOWNSHIP, MI – Troopers from the Michigan State Police Rockford Post were dispatched to a report of a felonious assault, domestic situation, in Moorland Township in Muskegon County, at 10:12 AM this morning.
A 27-year-old-man from Ravenna had fired a weapon numerous times both inside and outside of the residence. The girlfriend of the suspect, a 26-year-old woman from Ravenna, who was in the home at the time, was able to leave the house and call 911.
When troopers arrived, a perimeter was established around the residence. During the investigation it was determined that the suspect had left the residence on foot. He was located a short time later in the woods near the residence where he was taken into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect was lodged in the Muskegon County Jail pending arraignment.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office, Muskegon Township Police Department, Life Ambulance, MSP Canine and Emergency Support Team.
