DETROIT, MI – An unfortunate accident at Michigan Ave and 16th Street on New Years Eve claimed the lives of three people.

On December 31st, 2020, at approximately 10:40 p.m., an 87-year old man was odriving a 2017 Cadillac  and traveling west on Michigan Ave when his vehicle collided into a Mercury Sable occupied by two people (John and Jane Doe) that was also traveling west on Michigan Avenue.

As a result of the collision, both occupants in the Mercury were unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. The occupant of the Cadillac was transported to a local hospital where he unfortunately died due to his injuries.

Fatal Squad investigators are still investigating to determine the events that led up to this accident.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
