ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – On January 2, 2021, at 10:45am, Deputies from the Rochester Hills Substation were dispatched to Meijer located at 3610 Marketplace Circle on a complaint of indecent exposure.
Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with three female complainants who all stated they witnessed a male exposing his erect penis. One of the complainants said he had asked her to look at it while shopping inside the store.
The suspect, David Dexter Watkins, a 30-year-old male resident of the City of Pontiac, was located by Deputies and was positively identified by the victims. Additionally, one of the female victims also had her 3-year-old daughter with her at the time of the incident. Deputies obtained store video
surveillance which showed the suspect exposing his penis in various parts of the store to females. Watkins was lodged at the Oakland County Jail. In addition to the charges of Indecent Exposure, Watkins also had outstanding warrants for two separate incidents of Resisting and Obstruction, Driving While License Suspended, No Operators License on Person, and a License/Title/Registration. Violations all out of 50th District Court.
On January 5, 2021, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued three counts of Indecent Exposure against Watkins. Each count carries a sentence of 1-year in jail and/or a fine of $1,000. He was arraigned in front of Magistrate Marie Soma at 52-3 District Court and was given a $15,000 cash
surety bond with 10% with provisions of no contact with the victims or the retail store. Watkins’ next court date is February 3rd, 2021, in front of the Honorable Judge Nancy Carniak at 52-3 District Court.
