INDIANFIELDS TOWNSHIP, MI – On Tuesday January 5th, 2021, at 5:45 p.m., troopers were dispatched to Mertz Rd (M-24) and Riley Rd for a two vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed a 2002 Ford Expedition was southbound on Mertz Rd and preparing to turn east onto Riley Rd. The Ford Expedition did not have working taillights. A vehicle, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, was also southbound on Mertz Rd and the driver was unable to see the Expedition slowing down/turning. The result was a rear-end crash near the intersection of Mertz Rd and Riley Rd.

Two passengers, Julie Ann Davidson, 37-years-old, of Three Rivers MI and 32-year-old Tara Lee Luna , of Caro, were also injured and taken by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Silverado, 79-year-old Elizabeth Cain, of Mayville, was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

All the injuries are non-life threatening. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash.
