GAYLORD, MI – On Sunday, January 10, 2021, at approximately 2:56 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post were dispatched to a crash involving a single motor vehicle in Bagley Township.

The initial investigation indicates a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old female from Afton was travelling southbound on Old M-27 near N. Otsego Lake Drive when the truck left the roadway, struck an embankment, and became airborne. The forward momentum was stopped after striking another embankment where the vehicle rolled over. The vehicle was occupied by seven people ranging in age between 17 and 19.

Two of the occupants sustained serious injuries and were taken to St. Mary’s Ascension Hospital in Saginaw. The other occupants were treated locally for minor injuries.

Speed is believed to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation. Troopers were assisted by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, Otsego County Fire Department and EMS.
