carjacking suspect

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection to a carjacking that occurred on the city’s east side.

On Saturday, January 2nd, 2021, at approximately 3:22 p.m., a 60-year-old man dropped off his friends in the 17300 block of Harper to go to the store. As the victim was waiting for his friends to return, the suspect approach on foot, entered the victim’s white Nissan Altima, produced a weapon and ordered the victim out. The suspect then fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle last seen eastbound on Harper. No injuries were reported.

Suspect is described as a black male, light complexion, skinny build, approximately 6’2”, 165 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red/blue hooded sweater, blue jeans and unknown tennis shoes.
