DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Person-of-Interest wanted in connection to a carjacking that occurred on the city’s west side.

On Wednesday, January 6th, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 30-year-old woman was walking to her blue 2010 Chevrolet Malibu when an unknown armed suspect approached her on foot and demanded the keys to her vehicle. The woman threw her keys at the suspect and ran away. The suspect got into the vehicle and fled the scene. He was last seen traveling eastbound on W. 7 Mile, then turned northbound on Berg Rd. No injuries were reported.

Investigators believe that the Person-of-Interest was in the area at the time of the incident and may have information regarding this crime.
