DETROIT, MI –The Detroit Police Department needs the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in connection to a carjacking that occurred on the city’s west side.

On Monday, January 18th, 2021, at approximately 9:25 p.m., in the 10000 block of W. McNichols, a 41-year-old man parked his gray 2009 Hyundai Elantra and entered the local store. While he was inside of the store, his 27-year-old passenger remained in the vehicle. While the passenger was waiting on the driver to return to the vehicle two suspects approached on foot and demanded the vehicle. The passenger exited the Elantra and the suspects escaped with the vehicle, last seen southbound on Washburn from W. McNichols. No injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a black man, 18-22-years of age, medium complexion, approximately 5’6”, 160lbs. and medium length black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and blue jeans that had a stripe along the side, and was armed with a weapon.

The second suspect is described as black man, 18-22-yers-of age, approximately 5’6”, 160 lbs. and short black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater.
