MT. CLEMENS, MI – On Sunday February 21st, 2021, at approximately 11:00pm, Macomb County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the area of N. Broadway and Clemens Street for shots fired.
Dispatch relayed a description of the suspect to deputies and that suspect was apprehended a short time later still in the vicinity. The victim, who had been shot in the upper right arm, was located at a near by business. The male victim was transported to a near by hospital and has since been released.
Deputies on scene recovered two weapons: a loaded .40 handgun that was buried in the snow and a 9mm rifle that was inside a bag set on a trash can. Both weapons, along with multiple shell casings were taken as evidence. Both guns are unregistered and neither the suspect nor victim has a concealed pistol license.
Investigators have learned that the suspect and the victim are related to one another. The suspect is a 22 year old male and the victim is an 18 year old male; both reside in Mt. Clemens but do not reside together. Investigators are still actively working this incident. The suspect remains lodged at the Macomb County Jail with no bond for Assault with Intent to Murder.
